Acequia Madre students visit Santa Fe Community College for a sustainability tour!!!
Acequia Madre’s GWEers took a field trip to Santa Fe Community College (SFCC) on May 7th to learn about the college’s hydroponic and aquaponic greenhouses, alternative fuels and algae cultivation lab, and facilities technology program that prepares students to work with smart grid systems and distributed energy resources.
After their tour, the students walked the Ethyl the Whale, an 82 ft structure made from plastic trash to bring awareness to the negative impact plastics have on our environment.
