Global W.E. kids from some of our groups around the state marched into the Rotunda at the NM State Capitol Building on Climate Solutions Day in February 2026, wearing masks of their favorite NM species, to illustrate the need to feel connected to all wild species, and the need for grownups to take the children’ s voices and the wild ones’ lives into account when they make voting choices.
Las Cruces is far away from Santa Fe, so the kids at Hillrise were not able to attend Climate Solutions Day at the New Mexico Legislature. However, the kids did terrific research on their favorite species and made Amazing masks!!
The kids also made art work and cards to share with legislators from their district who were working at the Santa Fe Roundhouse, which is another name for the NM Legislature! Here are the cards and art work!!!
