Climate Solutions Day is sponsored by the Rio Grande Chapter of the Sierra Club, which is also a sponsor for our Global Warming Express program. Even before the Sierra Club sponsored the day at the Legislature, the Global Warming Expressers were there! They were even at the very first Climate Day, 14 years ago, when the day was called Renewable Energy Day and Global W.E. founder, Marina Weber-Stevens, gave the first Global Warming Express 1-minute speech!!!
This year, Global Warming Expressers from Santa Fe and ABQ came together at the Roundhouse in Santa Fe, where the NM Legislators work, as we do every year- to headline the press conference/rally with speeches and performances to encourage all grownups, and especially the people creating laws in our state, to remember the connection they have with wildlife and the wilderness and the impact they will make on them with their votes!!
Baba Fred Simpson played his djembe drum and led the procession of Global W.E. kids in their all-species masks into the Rotunda and to the front of the press conference. All of the Expressers wore their masks and some carried banners.
